Asheville Puppetry Alliance

Thanks for your interest in the Asheville Puppetry Alliance (APA). We’ve been privileged to bring the ancient art and craft of puppetry to Western North Carolina for the past 10 years.  As our activities and our vision expand and develop, we appreciate your inquiry as to how you can be involved.  The APA has established a “Western NC Friends of APA” auxiliary group.  “Friends” may actively assist APA in many different ways:

  • serving as ushers at Diana Wortham Theater and other productions
  • helping to build puppets for parades and festivals
  • distributing posters and flyers about our upcoming events
  • volunteering at events 
  • assisting in the implementation of fundraising activities to support new productions
  • working collaboratively to expand sponsorship of puppetry workshops in schools and libraries

 

In return, members will receive a membership card, get advance notice of upcoming events, discounts on tickets, activities and merchandise, and acknowledgement of their contribution to sustaining and developing the art and craft of puppetry in our community.  In addition, when you volunteer at performances you receive free admission to the shows.  A donation of $10 is suggested, which may be sent through the APA website (www.ashevillepuppetry.org) or can be mailed to:
